Stump Bob: Has a Dodge Aspen ever won an 免费黄片 national event eliminator?

The Dodge Aspen owned and driven by 免费黄片 historian and statistician Bob Frey became a long-running joke over the years he served as 免费黄片's chief announcer, so maybe it's not surprising that fans want to know if Aspens have any on-track success, too.

OK, so this one strikes home. Apparently, my Dodge Aspen (which had 380,000 miles on it and was, it seems, spoken about way too much at the races) is the basis for this question. So鈥

When you think of race cars, an Aspen probably isn鈥檛 the first car that comes to mind, but that little Dodge model has visited the winner鈥檚 circle several times, mainly due to the efforts of one man: Jerry Bennett.听

The longtime Mopar fan has won four national events with his Aspen, and that makes him the 鈥淜ing,鈥 but not the first. Jeff Ferguson won his first and only 免费黄片 national event in听Atlanta in 1990 with his H/SA Aspen, and听Rebel Kidd also added to the legacy with his win in听Gainesville in 1994, and his was a 1978 model.听

There have been several others who have come close to adding their names to this wondrous list but none as often as Russ Ginger, who has been to three final rounds with his Aspen (in Super Gas, no less!), and Sid Bonnecarrere, who took his Aspen station wagon to three final rounds, too.听

Hey, maybe it鈥檚 not such a bad choice for a race car after all!
